CITA International School emerges as recipient of the 2015 West African Student Union Parliarment French Promoters Award of Excellence

History was made on the 10th of March 2015 when a delegation from the West African Students Union Parliarment (WASUP) paid the school a visit to confer the French Promoters Award of Excellence in recognition of the promotion of French in West Africa.

Among the delegation were Monsieur Paul Atson Kekeh, French Language Promotion Unit Coordinator from the University of Legon, Ghana, Monsieur Kassem Kossi Essossimna, Country Coordinator, Togo from the University of Lome, Togo, Monsieur Kouassi Akin, Clerk of the Parliament from the University of Memez, Abidjan, Ivory Coast, Monsieur Jolomi Kpokpobe, Uniport Members Coordinator from the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria, Madame Abalogu Linda Loveday, Assistant Coordinator for Nigeria  from the Abia State University, Nigeria and Monsieur Samuel Dangle, Coordinator for Nigeria from the University of Abuja. 

The program was preceded by an opening prayer, French and Nigerian National Anthems Sung in French as well as the school anthem also sung in French. The delegates were also treated to songs and poetry in French. which left the delegation in awe. 

Following that was the conferment of the French Promoters Award of Excellence and a gold medal to the Proprietor of the school Madam Peggy Adukeh or "Big Aunty" as she is fondly called in recognition of her outstanding contribution towards the vulgarization of French Langauge in Nigeria and in the West African Sub-Region and her selfless service to God, Humanity, Nigerian Students and the Nation. Medals were also presented to the teachers of the French Department, Monsieur Uche Okoro (Silver), Monsieur Joseph Akadheme (Bronze), Monsieur Ewomazino Okoro (Bronze) and Mademoiselle Lucia Okoduwa (Bronze).

A certificate was received on behalf of the school management by the Head of Centre Mr Roland Ebiye-Koripamo for the French Promoters Award of Excellence 2015 Hall of Fame in recognition of her outstanding contribution towards the vulgarization of French Langauge in Nigeria and in the West African Sub-Region and exemplary leadership in education.

 

The WASUP delegation also visited the language laboratory at the high school and were full of praise and commendation. CITA International School is committed to the continuous promotion of the French Langauage and this award serves as a motivation to continue to do so.
