CITA WINS THE 2014 BRITISH COUNCIL INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING DEVELOPMENT OF THE INTERNATIONAL DIMENSION IN THE CURRICULUM

The International School Awards (ISA) journey began for CITA in July 2013 with its launch in Port Harcourt. It was a year long accreditation exercise involving 7 projects with two activities per project. Of the 7 projects, 4 of these were done in collaboration with Center Point School, Wardhaman Nagar in India. The seven projects included 
 
  1. Know Safety, No Injury
  2. Fabrics of the World
  3. Heritage Sites and Their Conservation
  4. Endangered Spiecies and Thier Preservation/ Conservation
  5. La période de l'esclavage jusqu'à la colonisation du monde francophone; le retour en arrière ( the slavery - colonisation period in francophone countries; a flash back).
  6. Cosmic Rays, Meteoric Impact and Life forms
  7. Porverty and Maternal Mortality in Developing and Underdeveloped Nations
Evidence of these activities were gathered together in form of dossier and submitted to the British Council for assessment. 
 
On the 3rd of December 2014 all of our hardwork came to fruit as we became pioneer recipeint of the Award alonside three other schools in Sub Saharan Africa. 
 

The ISA exercise was a learning experience not just for the pupils but also for the teachers as well as the parents who participated directly or indirectly in the seven projects and their related activities. It has opened our eyes to new ways of learning and has left our students engaged and ready to take on the world.
